Mobile welfare services
When there is a failure to power we work hard not only to bring that back on but we understand that this can cause a disruption to people’s daily lives and so our mobile welfare vans are on hand to help.
Our welfare vans are one way in which Haste can keep the community served from hot food and drinks to mobile generators, heaters, phones and wifi units to name a few we are on site to try and assist and keep people’s lives as normal as possible.
During a power outage some of the more vulnearable members of the community may need a cup of tea and a chat to help them feel more settled and we help them get in touch with with friends and family who may be worried about their well-being. We are also able to provide coverage for medical instances where electricity is most needed.
Our mobile generator is also used for many medical
purposes including and not restricted to:
- CPAP machines
- Air beds
- Chair lifts
- Fridge/freezers for medication
- Power wheelchairs and scooters
- Breathing machines, such as respirators or ventilators
- Oxygen, suction, or home dialysis equipment
- Hearing devices, such as hearing aids or cochlear implants
Apart from the essential need to consider safety and welfare, demonstrating a certain level of care towards the community is important and sets the tone for our intent. Furthermore, improving welfare improves people’s morale. After all, how often have you needed a brew after a power outage or somewhere to sit and warm up?
